TV Line reports that ABC’s long-defunct soap opera All My Children could potentially make a comeback through a series of TV movies.

Sources have confirmed to TV Line that preliminary discussions are in progress at Lifetime to launch a TV-movie franchise featuring beloved characters from the classic Pine Valley-set daytime drama. The show originally ran on ABC from 1970 to 2011 before briefly returning as a web series in spring/summer 2013. An insider has cautioned that the talks are still in the early stages, with one source describing the conversations as “exploratory.”

News of the potential comeback of All My Children is making waves, coinciding with CBS’s preparation for the January premiere of The Gates.
