This weekend, members of the Beyond the Gates family traded their on-screen roles for walking shoes, all in the name of hope, love, and community. The cast joined thousands at the Annual Susan G. Komen “More Than Pink” Breast Cancer Walk, standing shoulder to shoulder with survivors, fighters, and supporters. Together, they walked with one goal in mind: to help end breast cancer.
Several cast members took to social media to share highlights from their day.
Sean Freeman, who plays Andre Richardson, posted a heartfelt message on Instagram:
“Man, how cool is this? We participated in the Annual @susangkomen ‘More Than Pink💗’ Breast Cancer Walk this morning, and if the occasion wasn’t already special enough, we had this amazing encounter. These ladies started a tsunami of hugs and smiles afterward. They love our show, and we love them right back! It’s moments like these that really bless me, connecting with the PEOPLE. Salute to all those fighting to end cancer.”
For Maurice P. Kerry, who plays Randy Parker, the walk carried even deeper meaning.
“Today wasn’t just a walk… it was a movement,” Kerry wrote. “We showed up to the Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk to support the fighters, survivors, and families… and y’all turned it into a full-on family reunion! I got ambushed with hugs, selfies, aunties claiming me as their nephew, and fans who came with so much love I couldn’t do anything but laugh and lean into it.
But behind all the joy was something powerful: hope in motion. Every hug had a story. Every smile had a name behind it. We walked for our loved ones. We walked for the warriors still fighting. We walked because community is the medicine that keeps us going.”
Mike Manning, who plays Smitty, also shared his gratitude online.
“We loved meeting y’all at the @susangkomen More Than Pink Walk today. And thank you to everyone who donated to our @beyondthegatescbs team, helping to support the mission of ending breast cancer forever.”
The day was filled with laughter, love, and the kind of moments that remind everyone why events like this matter. The Beyond the Gates cast didn’t just show up; they showed heart.
As Freeman put it best, “It’s moments like these that really bless me, connecting with the PEOPLE.”
Because beyond the cameras and beyond the gates, it’s the people — the fighters, the survivors, and the supporters — who make the story worth telling.
