Bill Summons Vernon
Next week on Beyond the Gates, things are getting tense—and messy.
Vernon (Clifton Davis) storms in just as Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Hayley (Marquita Goings) are getting a little too cozy. “Who the hell do you think you are, summoning me?” he snaps, clearly annoyed. But something urgent must be going on… right? So, what’s the big emergency?
Meanwhile, Bill has another chat with Dani (Karla Mosley). He makes it clear—one Dupree in his life is more than enough. Looks like he’s reached his limit. Dani can’t help but wonder if her father really got under Bill’s skin more than he’s letting on.
Trouble for Martin and Smitty
Elsewhere, things heat up between Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning). Martin’s still keeping a big secret close to the chest, and Smitty’s starting to catch on. “It’s a good thing I’m not the kind of guy who gives ultimatums like, ‘If you walk out that door, don’t bother coming back,’” Smitty says. But how long will that patience last? What’s Martin going to do?
Jacob Consults Naomi
Later, Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) go over what he’s uncovered. Naomi tries to make sense of it all, realizing that Martin wants protection from the same crooked cop that Smitty’s been digging into. “If you ask me, something weird is going on,” Jacob says.
