Country music star Randy Houser has released a film inspired by his critically-acclaimed album, Magnolia.

The film of the same name focuses on Noah, and oil rig worker. He returns home to the shores of Mississippi, he finds himself falling for Ana; a beautiful, edgy mechanic from the gulf coast. But his homecoming has resurrected painful memories, and as he considers his future, he must confront his past. Thematically based on the heartbreak, grit, and rawness of Randy Houser’s album Magnolia, Noah’s story takes him on a journey through love, heartache, and the unknown. Magnolia is based on the songs, lyrics, and life stories collected from Randy Houser over his career. Both a narrative film and a visual album Magnolia presents a story as seen and heard through Randy’s bluesy southern roots.

“After the album was complete, we were discussing plans for music videos and I wanted to make sure to visually tell the story of each song while keeping the feel of Magnolia still intact—because it has a mood to it,” said Houser. “We created a film instead of dicing up the album into fragmented music videos so people could take in the music of the album in one sitting and digest it as one body of work, as it was intended.”

Directed by Justin Nolan Key, the film was authentically shot in Houser’s home state of Mississippi, providing the perfect backdrop to highlight his rootsy melodies and swampy guitar licks. Magnolia stars Donny Boaz, José Alfredo Fernandez, Lauren Richards, Princess Elmore, Victor Turner, Sherrian Jarret, David Reynolds, Bruno Antione, and Randy Houser.

You can watch Magnolia on Amazon Prime, Google Play and Itunes.
