Shining Bright Like A Diamond! This year, Days of Our Lives turns 60! WOW, right?!
2024 was a year of celebration, change, and sorrow for the sudser. The soap world celebrated the news when Days was picked up for a 61st season by Peacock and when the show celebrated its 15,000th episode. Changes came when then head writer Ron Carlivati was replaced with the current writing team of Paula Cwickly and Jeanne Marie Ford. And we mourned as we celebrated, with hearts full of love and gratitude, the lives of Bill Hayes (Doug Williams), Drake Hogestyn (John Black) and Wayne Northrop (ex-Roman Brady.)
Co-executive producer Janet Drucker, in a TV Insider exclusive interview, noted that despite the difficulties of the past year and the changes in the writing room, “we are truly enthusiastic about how our vision is taking shape and can’t wait to share it with our fans, old and new.”
The material for the new writer’s will begin airing in late April, and fans can expect an immediate shift “back to Salem’s core family dynamics.”

Michael Dietz (Port Charles Guiding Light) begins a short story arc April 30.
Also, Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) and Kyle Lowder (Rex Brady) are set to return to Salem in 2025.
