On Thursday, April 24, Days of our Lives will introduce its new Rachel. Alice Halsey is set to make her Days debut, taking over the role from Finley Rose Slater. The official Days Instagram account shared a video featuring the 10-year-old actress best known for her role in the acclaimed Apple TV+ limited series Lessons in Chemistry.
“Hello, I’m Alice Halsey, I’m 10 years old, and I play Rachel Black,” she said. She added, “I started acting when my first audition was when I was three. I think it was for a commercial of some sort. I did not get that part, and then I started acting again when I was maybe five or six.”
Reflecting on her first major gig, she shares, “I booked Lessons in Chemistry when I was seven.” In her free time, Halsey enjoys drawing, reading, and taking walks, stating, “That’s an activity I really love. I like jump roping. I like physical things—I love to move.”
When asked about her knowledge of Rachel prior to securing the role, Alice remarks, “So I did not know a lot about my character before I entered the show, but already it’s been super duper fun, and I’m having such a great time.” As for how she preps to memorize lines, she says, “It is a lot of work, but we prep a lot, and practicing it always, always will help. And my dad says that you’re always as good as your prep. So practicing always helps us be prepared for everything.”
