Days of Our Lives Gives Soapy a Shoutout
A lot went down during the September 8 episode of Days of Our Lives. But one little moment was especially fun for soap fans.
Leo Stark met with Kate at the Brady Pub, where she informed him that she is his new boss, thanks to Jack Deveraux making her editor of The Spectator.
That means Kate will be overseeing Leo’s work.
Leo thought it would be like old times when they worked together on Body and Soul, the soap-within-a-soap. Kate agreed, but noted that they would be toning down his point of view because, well, it can be a bit much.
She also explained that one of his new responsibilities would be helping develop The Spectator’s digital presence.
That means developing a podcast to attract new viewers who prefer listening rather than reading.
“A podcast?!” Leo exclaimed.
“That’s great, about what exactly?” he asked.
Kate told him it should be about what gets his blood pumping since he’s an expert on endless drama. She suggested a cultural analysis of the modern soap opera.
And that’s where things got cheeky.

“No, we could never top Soapy with Greg and Rebecca,” Leo said.
He continued by praising the podcast hosts, calling them charming, witty, and altogether delightful.
Leo then figured they needed to come up with something completely his own.
