Yesterday, fans watching Days of our Lives got a sweet surprise when Johnny DiMera (played by Carson Boatman) grabbed a guitar and serenaded his wife, Chanel (played by Raven Bowens) with a beautiful song.

The heartwarming moment happened at the hospital in Paulina’s room after her surgery, the same place where Johnny and Chanel tied the knot. The scene even included a small reception with cake and a beautiful song performed by Johnny. The song, titled “On Top of the World,” was written by Brent D. Nelson, the show’s musical director.
Since 1992, composer Brent D. Nelson has been co-writing the music for the long-running soap opera, earning him three Emmys and a bunch of nominations.
Boatman was totally rocking it and having a blast. You could tell he was in his element as a musician and singer.
Carson Boatman, hailing from Iowa, is not just an actor but also a musician. Besides his role as Johnny DiMera on Days of Our Lives, he has worked on projects like RUNT on Prime Video and Bedeviled on Netflix. When he’s not gracing the small screen, Boatman can be found touring the U.S. and Canada with his band “The Day Players,” made up of four actors from Days of Our Lives; Brandon Barash (Stefan), Eric Martsolf (Brady), Wally Kurth (Justin) and Boatman. The band, formed in early 2022, has been playing to sold-out crowds. Before his Days of Our Lives gig, Boatman was signed to Island Records as part of the band “Citizen Four.”
