Soap Opera News is very excited to inform you that a beloved onscreen and offscreen couple will be honored at this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards which will be held in April. Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie) who has been a part of the ‘Days of Our Lives’ cast since 1968 and Bill Hayes (Doug) who has been part since 1972 will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony on April 29, 2018. The real-life couple has been married since October 12, 1974.
David Michaels, SVP of Daytime Emmy Awards shared, “I’ve been star-struck by the dynamic duo of Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes for decades. The scope of their work across the television, film and stage landscape is amazing. Their continuing roles of almost 50 years on ‘Days of our Lives’, where they also met and married, is a daytime story like no other!” Congratulations to the Hayes’ on a well-deserved honor!
