Days of Our Lives Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for August 1, 2023: Kristen Gets Full Custody!
Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on August 1, 2023: Steve and John reunite with Kayla and Marlena. Paulina hopes being home will help Abe recover his memory. Chanel assures Abe that he will remember everything. Brady and Kristen’s meeting with the judge has a startling outcome.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap August 1, 2023: Kristen Gets Full Custody!
Marlena is on the phone with Sami, asking her to call Eric when John comes home and surprises her. They greet each other happily and then discuss Abe. Marlena tells John that Abe may never recover his memory. Steve surprises Kayla at the hospital and they share sweet kisses before having a similar conversation about Abe’s prognosis. Kayla calms Steve’s anger at Whitley by telling him about her break with reality and what caused it.
Chanel brings Abe baked goods and they talk while Paulina and Theo get everything ready for Abe to come home to at the apartment. Theo tells Paulina that his partner wants him to go back to South Africa for a deal they are working on but that he’s not going. Paulina encourages him to go and promises to call him if there is any change in Abe’s memory. He reluctantly agrees and they head to the hospital.
John and Steve visit with Abe and introduce themselves to him and fill him in on their friendships. Kayla and Marlena talk about Abe’s condition and their fears about Paulina pushing him too hard just as she shows up to pick Abe up. They talk to her gently about the issues and she tells them that she will be patient but determined. Theo goes to visit Abe and tells him that he has to leave for work. Abe understands and allows Theo to hug him before he leaves.
Chanel sees Theo in the Square and promises to keep in touch while he is gone. Paulina remembers what Kayla and Marlena said as she gets Abe and brings him home. She tries to be patient and give him space but it is a struggle for her.
In the judge’s chambers, Kristen apologizes for being late because she was at a double wedding. The judge is understanding and thanks her for coming on short notice. She tells Kristen, Brady, and Belle that she has concerns about the proposed custody agreement but that her concerns are about Brady and not Kristen. Brady lashes out but apologizes but that does not appease the judge. She grants full custody of Rachel to Kristen and leaves Brady shellshocked.
Brady attempts to reason with Kristen but she tells him she will abide by the judge’s order and hopes he will too. She tells him he will be able to see Rachel but it will have to be supervised. Brady goes home and looks at a picture of Rachel. When John and Marlena get home he tells them that he lost her. Kristen goes back to the judge’s chambers to check for the final order and Belle tells her that Brady isn’t the only one who lost that day, Rachel did too and any good mother would know that.
