Days of Our Lives Episode Recap, Cast List, and Spoilers for August 9, 2023: Ava & Harris Bond In Bayview
Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on August 9, 2023: Paulina makes a plea on Abe’s behalf. Tripp plans a romantic surprise for Wendy. Harris and Ava bond at Bayview. Chanel turns to Johnny for comfort.
Days of Our Lives Episode Recap August 9, 2023: Ava & Harris Bond In Bayview
In the Square, Paulina rages against the acting mayor shutting down Sweet Bits while Chanel is sadly resigned. Paulina isn’t ready to give up and gets an idea of how to help her daughter. After Paulina leaves Johnny arrives and Chanel fills him in on what happened with the bakery. He offers any help he can give and she thanks him for being there for her. Talia tells Marlena that she wants to talk about her feelings for Chanel but understands if it’s not ok because of her connection to Marlena’s grandchildren. Marlena tells her that she is her doctor and they can talk about anything she needs to.
Abe and Kayla work on the flashcards a little more but then decide to go out for a while. Before they can leave Paulina shows up, demanding to speak to Abe. Kayla doesn’t want her to but Paulina pushes past her and tells Abe that she is there because he is the mayor and he needs to help Chanel. Johnny fills Chanel in on his trip to New Zealand. He purposely avoids mentioning Allie but Chanel pushes him to update her. Marlena helps Talia work through her feelings for Chanel and encourages her to talk to Chanel about how she feels.
Johnny tells Chanel about Allie’s new boyfriend and how happy they are and Chanel is happy for them. Johnny tells Chanel that no one can compare to her and she asks about his breakup with Wendy. He is about to tell her that Wendy chose Tripp because she thought Johnny still had feelings for Chanel but Talia interrupts them. Johnny leaves them to talk and Talia confesses her feelings for Chanel.
Talia asks Chanel if she can return those feelings but then gets scared and leaves. Chanel is very confused. At Steve and Kayla’s, Paulina tells Abe what happened to the bakery and asks him to go back to work as the mayor to help Chanel. Kayla thinks it’s too soon but Abe decides that he wants to do it.
Tripp takes Wendy back to the Inn in an attempt to create their perfect romantic night. She tells him that being with him is all she needs to make it perfect. Ava approaches Harris and apologizes for attacking him. She explains about hallucinating that he was Charlie and he understands. She tells him her history with her sons and about the guilt she feels for everything that happened. Harris reminds her that she is mentally ill and can’t control it.
Ava tells him she can’t get over the guilt of causing people’s deaths and Harris knows how she feels because he is in the same boat. He tells her about what led him to Bayview and she tells him that it wasn’t his fault that he was brainwashed. They connect with each other and Harris encourages her to set up a visit with Tripp.
Wendy and Tripp’s night is interrupted by a call from Bayview. She encourages him to go visit his mother and promises that she will be waiting for him when he gets back. After he leaves she settles in with a glass of wine and the TV. Ava tells Harris that she took his advice and that Tripp is on his way. He is happy for her before leaving for a therapy session. When Tripp comes in, Ava hugs him happily and he hugs her back.
