Days of our Lives Recap February 27, 2024
Everett arrives at the police station and sees Chad after receiving a summons. While they wait, they catch up as Everett queries how Chad and kids are doing after the fire. They also attempt to unravel the reason for their summons, with Everett suspecting it has something to do with Lucas. However, before Everett can disclose his true identity as Bobby Stein to Chad, Jada enters and reveals that the matter pertains to the attempted murder of Lucas Horton.
Jada explains that armed assailants broke into Lucas’s room and opened fire. She stressed that only a select few were aware of Lucas’s whereabouts and she is determined to uncover who leaked this sensitive information. Both Everett and Chad adamantly deny betraying Lucas and reaffirm that they were the only ones aware of his location when he contacted them for the story. Jada, particularly hostile towards “Mr. Stein,” questions their ties to Clyde. Everett denies any association with Clyde Weston, but Jada is skeptical, emphasizing that she will only believe them if they provide credible information.

After Jada steps out to make calls, Chad questions Everett about her intense scrutiny. Everett confides in Chad about his alter ego, Bobby Stein. He expresses confusion over missing memories from before the accident. Tensions rise between Chad and Everett, and when Jada returns, she learns that Chad now knows about Bobby Stein. Chad is disgusted with Everett and readies to leave. Jada advises that they cannot leave town.
At the DiMera mansion, Johnny strides into the living area to find his father seated there. Shortly after, Nicole enters and observes that Johnny looks like he could use a good night’s sleep. When he inquires about Holly, she informs him that she is upstairs and encourages him to go see for himself. EJ explains that the doctors in Italy thought it was best for Holly to be back in her home. Nicole expresses the importance of staying hopeful that Holly will wake up. She also inquires about Paulina’s surgery, and Johnny shares that it went well, but she experienced a heart attack. Fortunately, she is in stable condition.

Johnny also shares some other big news – he and Chanel got married again. EJ and Nicole are thrilled for him, and EJ jokingly expresses being a little hurt for not being invited to the wedding. EJ wonders if Chanel will be moving into the mansion to live with Johnny, to which Johnny responds that they haven’t discussed living arrangements yet, but he has a feeling they will want a place of their own.
Johnny goes to look for out Holly. He shares how much he misses her presence around the mansion. Despite the current chaos, he assures her of his intention to visit again soon. EJ and Nicole join him, and Johnny reflects on the possibility that if he had talked to Holly more, they could have prevented the whole situation. EJ doesn’t want him to blame himself and claims it is all Tate’s fault, while Nicole urges them to focus on expressing their love for Holly. Afterward, Johnny prepares to return to the hospital, with EJ and Nicole assuring him of their unwavering support. Later, Nicole and EJ share a tender moment observing Holly. As they retire to bed, Holly’s hand starts moving.

Abe is with Paulina by her bedside when Chanel returns. Chanel thanks for him for allowing her to go take a shower and staying with her momma. Chanel sits by her momma and speaks about her usual words of wisdom. She notes how much her mom has gone through but Abe reminds her of her mom’s favorite expression – God doesn’t give them more than they can handle.
Kayla arrives and she has some good news and some not so good news. Starting with the good news, the doc explains that the thymectomy was a success and based on all the follow up tests, Paulina is progressing just as they had hoped. She adds that the surgery was not the cause of the heart attack. However, they are lucky that Paulina was there so they could put the angioplasty in place immediately. But even so, after a heart attack there is damaged to the heart when it has lost its blood supply and when it heals it can forms scar tissue. Basically, Paulina will have a long road to recovery.
Kayla assures them that she will arrange cardiac recovery for Paulina and they will monitor her progress closely. She also informs them that, considering the severity of her case, she may require a heart transplant. As Paulina wakes up, she asks what’s going on. When they are alone, she implores Abe to take a seat and to promise that he will care for her daughters if anything happens to her. Abe reassures her, pledging to support her, the girls and their children through whatever may come, standing firmly by her side.

Johnny arrives at the hospital and is greeted by an emotional Chanel who updates him on Paulina’s condition. Despite Chanel’s worries about losing her mom, Johnny encourages her to stay positive. Chanel receives a call from Eli, and together they join Abe and Paulina in the hospital room, where they have good news to share. Paulina wonders if this is honeymoon news but Chanel reveals that Eli called to announce Lani’s release and that they will be in Salem tomorrow. The room is filled with joy as Paulina and the rest celebrate the positive news.
