The Days of Our Lives episode for October 16 features Lani meeting with Jada and getting big news. Meanwhile, Sophia and Kristen are back in Salem, and Xander has another session with Marlena. During their talk, Xander realizes that he needs to let go of his feelings for Sarah since they are clearly over. Johnny also promises to help clear Sarah’s name, and so much more. Lani Gets a Second Chance as Sarah’s Case Takes a Turn
At the station, Lani arrives to see Jada. Shawn enters and assumes he is interrupting, but Jada asks him to stay. “Perfect timing,” she says.
Jada mentions that Paulina called to tell her about the governor giving Lani a full pardon. “In light of the pardon, how would you like to have your old job back?” Jada asks Lani.
Lani isn’t immediately convinced that returning to the force is the right move. Jada, however, encourages her to reconsider and even suggests that she and Shawn work together as partners again.
After Lani leaves to fill out paperwork, Jada gets a call with potentially serious implications for Sarah. The report claims that Sarah changed Destiny’s test results from abnormal to normal a day after she died. Shawn believes Sarah is innocent, and Jada agrees, but the evidence says otherwise.
They notice that the changes to Destiny’s file were made from a device outside the University Hospital network. Now, they need to find that computer and figure out who it belongs to. Is this where Johnny comes in?
Johnny Promises to Clear Sarah’s Name
At the hospital, Johnny approaches Sarah and Xander. He wants to talk about the lawsuit against her. “I want the truth to come out,” he notes. He promises not to let his father get away with what he did. After all, he already went to the police. “I’ve got a plan to clear Sarah’s name,” Johnny announces.
He promises to do everything he can, step by step, to make that happen, and Sarah thanks him. Xander, however, reminds him that words are cheap, noting that until he sees action and results, he will reserve his thanks.
Johnny later meets with Jada after she summons him via text. She and Shawn bring up the new information that just came in. Johnny thinks this dirty work was done by George O’Halloran since his plan was to deny and deflect. Jada and Shawn agree to look into it.
Brady Opens Up to Marlena
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Marlena checks on Brady, who notes that Rachel misses Kristen now more than ever. Brady informs Marlena that he reached out to Kristen, but he has not heard back. He admits that after everything he learned, reaching out was a mistake, and he hopes to never hear from her again.
Brady reveals that Kristen used Sophia to try to murder her own nephew. He is conflicted about what to do since Kristen might show up to see their daughter. Marlena hates separating a mother from her child, but in this case, she agrees with him. Later, Brady fills Sarah in and asks her to get hospital security to keep Kristen away from Rachel.
Kristen Returns to Salem With Sophia
At the same time, Kristen meets with Sophia in the town square. They head to a motel, where Kristen reveals there is a problem with the money, though she promises Sophia will still get it and have enough to live comfortably.
Sophia wants the money soon. Being back in Salem brings up painful memories, and she would rather leave them behind. Kristen mentions how much Rachel misses her and notes how painful that must be. She even adds that since Sophia is back in town, she should probably let her mom know that she is alive.
“Are you insane?” Sophia asks. She points out that the idea is crazy because if she does that, she could end up behind bars. Kristen, however, tries to convince Sophia to find a way to see her mom without ending up in prison. She explains that her mom has a hole in her heart that will never heal unless Sophia fixes it. “Please give this poor woman some peace,” Kristen says.
Kristen Visits Rachel
Later, Kristen puts on a black wig and a nurse disguise to sneak in and see Rachel, but Brady catches her in the room. He tells her he knows what she did and demands that she leave, but Kristen refuses. Sarah walks in, realizes what is happening, and decides she should call security. Kristen begs her not to. She argues that Sarah is a mother and should understand her position. Just then, Rachel wakes up. “Mom,” she says.
So, will Sophia take Kristen’s advice and visit her mom next week on Days of Our Lives? Will Brady change his mind about keeping Kristen away from Rachel? It seems like plenty of drama is headed our way next week on the Peacock soap opera.
