Lani Is Officially Back at the Salem PD

At the Salem PD, Lani is sworn in and handed back her detective badge. “Welcome back to the Salem PD, Detective Grant,” Jada tells her with a warm smile.
Later, Abe, Lani, Paulina, and Eli head to the Town Square to get into the Halloween spirit. Suddenly, Abe starts experiencing some worrying symptoms. The group wonders if he is alright, and of course, he insists he is doing just fine.
Xander Wakes Up, but He’s Facing Serious Questions

Over at the hospital, Sarah sits by Xander’s bedside as he slowly opens his eyes. “Sarah,” he whispers. She gently explains that he saved her life, to which he softy replies, “And you saved mine.”
Sarah alerts the doctors that he is awake before turning back to him. “I’m so happy to have awakened to you,” Xander admits. He then asks about the missing laptop and she updates him.
While Kayla checks on Xander, Sarah runs into Brady in the waiting area. He is surprised she did not reach out to him sooner. Sarah begins blaming herself for the chaos, but Brady steps in and tells her not to carry that burden. He reminds her that she did nothing wrong. Kayla arrives shortly after with a positive update. She confirms that Xander is doing great.
As Sarah prepares to return to Xander’s room, Brady asks for a private moment with her. He asks about her future plans now that the Kiriakis mansion has been saved. Brady assumes that means she will move back in. Sarah agrees it is what is best for their daughter and thanks him for being so understanding.
Jada and Shawn Question Xander and Sarah
Before they can finish, Jada and Shawn arrive with questions for the recoveree. Shawn questions Sarah while Jada handles Xander. She informs him that George was pronounced dead at the scene. “So I killed him,” Xander realizes.
Jada notes she is more concerned with how Xander got the weapon in the first place. She points out that the gun he used was unlicensed and unregistered. Meanwhile, Sarah decides to exercise her right to remain silent under Shawn’s questioning.
Back with Xander, he tells Jada that before they go any further, he needs to speak with an attorney. He acknowledges she is just doing her job, but reminds her that he secured the laptop for her—which is the primary lead she should be pursuing.
Brady Breaks Up With Sarah

When Sarah returns to Brady, he makes a heartbreaking admission. He knows she cares about him, but seeing her with Xander when she thought she was going to lose him made him realize where her heart truly lies.
He tells her that her real family is with Xander and Victoria. Brady notes it would be foolish for them to pretend they have a future together. “What we had was really wonderful,” he says. “I want and deserve to be with someone that can give their full heart to me, and that’s not you.” Stunned, Sarah asks, “Are you breaking up with me?”
Brady explains that he is simply setting her free to be with the man she really loves.
Later, Sarah goes back into Xander’s room and asks if everything is alright. Xander explains that the gun he used was neither licensed nor registered, but Sarah brushes it off as a mere technicality. She promises that, technicality or not, she will not let anyone punish him for doing the right thing after he saved her life. Holding his hands, she promises that no matter what happens next, they will get through it together.
Chanel Gets the Best News About Her Health

Elsewhere, Johnny breaks some bad news to Chanel. He comes clean about his big clash with EJ and reveals that his father is out of his life for good. “Thank God,” Chanel responds candidly.
She explains that EJ’s brand of love is entirely toxic. Johnny notes that while it was always his choice to push his dad away in the past, being disowned is a whole different story.
Suddenly, Chanel gets a call from Kayla regarding her pathology report. Desperate for answers, Chanel asks for the results over the phone. “It’s good news,” Kayla announces, revealing that the pathology, scans, and bloodwork all came back showing no evidence of disease!
“Guess who’s cancer-free!” Chanel exclaims to Johnny after hanging up. Overjoyed, Chanel wants to celebrate. After all, she now knows that she is going to be around for a long time.
Johnny assures her they will throw a huge bash 40-plus years down the line. He calls them both so lucky. In fact, he wants to celebrate right away, however, Chanel reminds him of their Halloween plans with the kids. Still, she coyly suggests a quick alternative way to celebrate while the little ones are still napping!
