Scott Shilstone is one of the newest additions to the ‘Days of Our Lives’ cast. After, being brought on for a one episode arc as a grown up version of Hope [Kristian Alfonso] and Bo’s [ex-Peter Reckell] son Zack Brady in 2016, Shilstone made a return to the NBC daytime drama as Wyatt this year. With no last name, not much background history, no Salem relatives there’s much to learn about his new character and Shilstone filled us in. In conversation, he talked about his new ‘Days’ role, working with Kristian Alfonso, what fans can expect and more. Read the full interview below!

Welcome back to Days of Our Lives, it’s good to have you back. How did you get back on the show and what has it been like being there?

Scott: Thanks! It’s good to be back. About a year after playing Zack I was offered the role of Wyatt. I was thrilled to be back. I had such a wonderful experience my first time.

                                         (Hope, Bo and Zack)

You first played a grown up version of Zack Brady – what was that like for you? Di you have to do some research in order to step into that role?

Scott:  I will admit that when I signed on as Zack, I hadn’t really seen any Days episodes before. Once I identified who I was playing, I watched Kristian’s scene where she’s informed her young son has died. It was intense. She gave an incredibly haunting performance. It stuck with me. That scene definitely helped me understand the significance of Zack’s return.

Now you’re back playing the role of Wyatt – does Wyatt have a last name? Lol, tell us a little bit more about Wyatt.

Scott: I  am playing Wyatt, yes. He doesn’t have a last name, but then again neither does Sting. If I were to describe Wyatt, I’d say he’s someone who puts himself first. Maybe not intentionally, but inherently he’s selfish. There’s good in him. He’s not a malicious person, but he struggles with the ability to see himself as anything other than right.

                                                   (Ciara and Wyatt)
Is this thing with Ciara going to last?

Scott: We’ll have to wait and see…

What’s going through Wyatt’s head in terms of his love life, being in Salem and more?

Scott:  Wyatt just got out of a relationship where he was told he was emotionally unavailable. I don’t think he saw his break up as anything he did wrong, because he doesn’t see any of his actions during as culpable. I think he’s a guy who likes to always be in a relationship, because it gives him a sense of control. So when Theo recommends Ciara, he’s eager to get that feeling back. I think Wyatt fits perfectly in Salem. He’s someone who has a past, who’s conflicted and mysterious.

Does Wyatt have any relatives in Salem?

Scott:  Wyatt might have relatives in Salem. He might not.

Ciara’s portrayer Vivian Jovanni has left the show, what’s going to happen to Wyatt?

Scott: Wyatt will deal with Ciara’s departure the only way he knows how.

Will we be seeing you on the show for the unforeseeable future?

Scott: At this time, Wyatt’s arc does have a beginning, middle and end, but I believe he’s got more story to tell.

What’s on the horizon for you as an actor outside of the daytime show – any upcoming projects?

Scott: Outside of Days, I can be seen in American Dresser, where I had the privilege of acting opposite Academy Award nominee Tom Berenger. I play his son. I believe the film is looking at a summer premiere.

So, there you go ‘Days’ fans. Would you love to see Wyatt find a permanent stay in Salem? Which Salem beauty would you like to see him hook up with?
