Salem’s newest resident is headed to the big screen. Lorelei Olivia Mote, who recently took the soap world by storm as the new Rachel Black on Days of Our Lives, has officially landed a lead role in the highly anticipated psychological horror film, They Know.
This project is a massive deal—it marks the feature film directorial debut of the legendary Bill Hader. For Lorelei, who only joined the DAYS cast in March 2026, this is huge.
What We Know About They Know
The film stars Bill Hader as a divorced father who begins to suspect his ex-wife is hiding a dark secret about her new partner. He grows increasingly paranoid that this mysterious man is exerting a strange, psychological influence over his children. Lorelei Olivia Mote will portray one of the daughters, starring alongside fellow newcomer Lilou Lang.
The film is being financed by MRC, the powerhouse studio behind Knives Out.
A Natural Fit for Rachel Black
For DAYS fans, Mote’s move into the horror genre feels like a perfect fit. Since arriving in Salem, her portrayal of Rachel Black has been anything but “light,” as she’s tackled intense storylines.
While a jump to major film sets often suggests a hiatus from daytime television, there is no official word on her departure. Since They Know is filming in Los Angeles, there’s a good chance the production schedules will align, allowing her to stay on the canvas in Salem while filming her big-screen debut.
Currently, Mote recurs on the Peacock soap opera.
When to Watch
While production is currently in the early stages and a specific release date hasn’t been set, industry timelines suggest a theatrical release in mid-2027.
Following the pattern of most MRC productions, fans can expect a dedicated theatrical window before the film moves to digital platforms.
