Well, what do you know? A recent podcast featuring Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling is making the rounds because he mentioned his love for soap operas, particularly Days of Our Lives, which he grew up watching.
While being interviewed on Happy Sad Confused, hosted by Josh Horowitz, to talk about his latest movie, Project Hail Mary, Gosling had nothing but good to say about the soap genre.
He praised the hard work done by actors on daytime soaps and even made particular mention of the one and only Deidre Hall, who plays Dr. Marlena Evans.
Gosling brought specific attention to the times where her character, Marlena, was possessed by the devil, not once, but twice.
Deidre Hall Responds With an Invite
Now, Hall has seen the viral clip, and she had the best response.
“Hi Josh, hi Ryan,” she said with a smile. “Josh, it’s Deidre Hall. I know you don’t…” she joked before continuing.
“I caught the podcast. Oh my gosh, what fun! We played it in the dressing room, and we played it in the makeup room, and we’re just thrilled to be acknowledged and be so well spoken of. Because we work really hard, as you acknowledged.”
Then came the invite.
“So we think it would be nice if you wanted to come over and see what we do in our neck of the woods. This is an open invitation to visit the Days of Our Lives set. Nobody will be possessed. And if they are, I’ll keep an eye on you.”
Horowitz caught wind of the clip and responded, “Did I just get dragged by Deidre Hall? I didn’t have this on my bingo card this week.”
