At the fan celebration Day of Days this past October 21, 2023 at Peacock Place in Los Angeles, Days of our Lives stars met fans, signed autographs, took pictures, and also sat with Soap Opera News for exclusive interviews.
Galen Gering and Elia Cantu (Rafe and Jada, Days of Our Lives) laughed and talked with SON staff as we discussed their characters’ current relationship, what drama will soon be standing in their way, and took a quick peek behind the scenes.
On whether or not Jada’s mother would be coming to Salem soon to stir up trouble, Cantu wasn’t sure where that specific detail may have come from. But she did confirm that someone from Jada’s past would soon be heading to Salem to create problems for the couple, and it’s “Jada’s ex from the past,” but that’s all she could say. If you haven’t heard yet, Blake Berris is returning to the show in a new role as Everett, Jada’s ex-husband.
Gering mentioned that Rafe and Jada are in for a long road ahead of them before they will find themselves with a smooth romance.
Both Gering and Cantu agreed that if Rafe and Jada were to have a baby, “they’d be cute.” There was no doubt between the two of them that the hypothetical child wouldn’t be gorgeous.
Cantu spoke highly of the Days of our Lives move to streaming on Peacock and was excited to welcome new viewers to the show who may have passed it by on network TV. While Gering praised the ability of fans to binge through the show, whether they be loyal viewers or new viewers, to get into the series.
Gering said, “It’s been great thus far!” regarding the transition. They agreed that streaming was the future of entertainment and that all soaps should find an exclusive online home. Check out the fun interview below!
