Soaps are where you kicked off your acting career with your role as a Party Girl on Knots Landing and you also played the role of Kate Jefferson on All My Children, what was your soap opera experience like?
T.C: I actually started out very young on a film called Silverado and from then on it was hitting the pavement every day putting no less than 2 efforts forth towards my career. I went to Film school while many roles were obtained and to this day I have never lost the passion for acting.
This was the best crash course on acting – there was no time to be wasted – relying on the people around you was critical and every day was fun. I learned a lot and I learned FAST. Being in the moment and learning 40 pages a day was rough – but with the people around me, all was possible.
You’ve done daytime, primetime and film roles – do you have a preferred genre and why?
T.C: I love all genres for their own reasons. Daytime has the luxury of consistency, Primetime has the luxury of more time and film has the intricate details that are laid out and impeccably focused in.
There has been a lot of shake-up castings in recent times on soap operas, would you ever consider a return to genre? If so, what show or what role could you see yourself playing?
T.C: I think you could add more here than I could – but Kelsey/Kate was such a strong character with a well-designed and extremely well-written background that I think it would be sad to not bring her back – and place her in any soap opera – day or night.
Fans are hopeful that All My Children will once again find a new home – do you share the same sentiments? Would you be open to reprising your former role if the show was rebooted and what would you like to see for your character this time around?
T.C: I think if AMC came back and Kelsey came back on – she could not only indulge in more trouble innocently stumbled upon by bad choices, but also be the sounding board for the younger generation – possibly a judge or superior of some kind who has been voted in despite her history.
What have you been up to since your last acting project?
T.C: Outside of raising my two kids, I have been doing writing and focusing on family.
Do you have any projects on the horizon that you could talk about now?
T.C: We are re-launching the Now Silence adaptation of the novel of the same name and a few more things – I will share more towards the end of the Summer.
What keeps you busy outside of acting?
T.C: Anyone who has ever known me – I am always busy… I have the energy that never stops and the passion that lives forever….”
