Former Days of our Lives composer, music director, and music supervisor, Martin Davich, who even made some appearances onscreen as Marty the piano play at Doug’s Place, has died. The Los Angeles College of Music announced, “It is with a heavy heart and deep respect that we share the news of Martin Davich’s passing last weekend. Martin, or Marty to many of us, was a charismatic and powerfully talented composer and educator. He was the original author of LACM’s Composing for Visual Media program and a tireless supporter of young musicians over the years.”
Susan Seaforth Hayes (who plays Julie Williams) paid tribute to Davich via Instagram. Hayes wrote, “Marty Davich was our piano man in the golden years of Days music. Often on camera, rarely with dialogue, he spoke through the themes he played. Always perfect, always ingenious, always beautiful… just like the man.”

I imagine them again, in heaven, making music with the angels. Farewell, dear Marty, and bravo on a life well played 🎶❤️ xx Susan.”
Born in 1950, Martin Davich, a highly acclaimed Emmy-winning composer, wrote for many dramatic series, including ER for 15 years, Trinity, Beverly Hills 9021 and more.
