Another familiar face from Port Charles is popping up on primetime television. Jeff Kober, best known to soap fans as Cyrus Renault on General Hospital, is set to guest star on the hit ABC drama 9-1-1.
Kober will appear in this week’s episode titled “Mother’s Boy.” In the episode, Eddie Diaz and Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley run into travel trouble after their flight back to Los Angeles is canceled following the National Firefighter Games.
Determined to make it home in time for Hen Wilson’s birthday, the pair decides that a cross-country road trip is their best option. But things take a dramatic turn when Buck suddenly goes missing.
Kober was part of the General Hospital cast from 2020 until 2025. During his run on the soap, Cyrus became one of Port Charles’ most dangerous villains. He even won the 2022 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
In a twist that GH fans will remember well, Cyrus was responsible for killing Dex Heller, played by Evan Hofer. Interestingly enough, Hofer himself appeared as a guest star on last week’s episode of 9-1-1: Nashville.
A Long Primetime Resume
Kober is no stranger to primetime television. With a career spanning more than three decades, he’s appeared in numerous hit series over the years.
Some of his recent roles include appearances on The Pitt, Chicago Med, and High Desert. He’s also previously shown up in shows like NCIS: Los Angeles, Truth Be Told, Big Sky, Walker, CSI: Miami, and Criminal Minds.
Fans who miss seeing Kober on daytime TV can catch him back on ABC when the new episode of 9-1-1 airs Thursday, March 12.
