Recognizing his mistake, General Hospital alum Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan) took to Instagram Live on June 19 to offer a sincere apology. Despite its brevity, he felt it was crucial to address the misinformation he had inadvertently spread during his previous interaction with fans.
“I have to rectify something. The last time I did a Live, we were talking about films that were being rerun and I said that I didn’t earn residuals on those. I’ve since been educated by my team and by my union. So I have to tell you guys that was my mistake. We do earn residuals.”
Ryan Paevey was duly informed that, as per the terms of his contract, he does indeed earn residuals when his movies air again. However, no further residuals were received on this occasion, as he had already received them in advance.
Ryan Paevey Explains
Paevey added, “The nature of my employment was unique because we are contract and that’s kind of a unique thing in the industry. I didn’t not understand the way that these things were broken down, the way we earn residuals. When you are in a contract, there is a significant percentage of it that counts as an advance against residuals when films are rerun. And I did not understand this structure. So what I said was inaccurate. So that was my mistake.”
Ryan Paevey portrayed the role of Nathan West on General Hospital from 2013 to 2018, during which the character was killed off. Following this, Paevey has been actively contributing to a variety of Hallmark movies. As of now, there are no known upcoming projects for the accomplished actor. (Photo: Hallmark)
