General Hospital served—and served well—this week. We got back-to-back outstanding episodes that were filled with some unforgettable performances by a talented cast, but one in particular stood out to us this week, and that was the phenomenal work done by young actor Finn Carr, who plays Rocco Falconeri. The young actor has been chosen as Soap Opera News’ Performer of the Week for March 23–27.
Let’s break down what happened.
What Happened on General Hospital?
Rocco visited Britt in her room at Bobbie’s to ask her a favor. He has an interest in the medical field, so he thought Britt, being a doctor and even having worked as the chief of staff at the hospital, could train him.
However, Britt was clearly on edge and very distracted. She was clearly headed out of town. So instead, she promised to ask Lucas to do the job or even to find someone well capable of doing it.
Suddenly, Britt got a message on her phone and had to leave. However, Rocco was taking notice. Something just didn’t sit right with him, so lo and behold, he followed Britt to Pier 55, where she met up with Lucas.
Unbeknownst to Britt that Rocco was there, she collected the two vials of medication that Lucas took with him—the same two Marco had retrieved from Wyndemere so she could replicate them and finally be free of Cullum and Sidwell.
Britt was extremely grateful, and her conversation with Lucas soon ended as she anxiously waited for Jason to arrive so they could execute their plan by going on the run together.
The Moment That Changed Everything
Only moments later, Cullum showed up. He knew what she was up to and demanded that she hand over the vials. Britt did; he took them, poured them out, and crushed the bottles right in front of her.
And then it got violent.
Cullum attacked Britt, knocking her unconscious. As she hit the ground, Rocco watched and listened in horror.
When Cullum pulled a gun and prepared to shoot her, Jason arrived just in time. The two men fought, struggling over the weapon as it slid across the pier.
At one point, it looked like Jason wasn’t going to make it.
Cullum gained the upper hand and was about to seriously hurt Jason.
That’s when it happened.
A gunshot rang out.
Cullum had been shot in the back. And the one holding the gun was Rocco.
It was a shocking moment. And Carr played it perfectly.
A Performance You Could Feel
What really stood out wasn’t just the action. It was everything that came after.
Rocco was visibly shaken to his core. He struggled to even say a word. He was clearly trying to process what he had just done. But even in silence, Carr made you feel every bit of fear, shock, and confusion.
That’s not easy to pull off, especially for a young actor. Yet, he did it. That’s talent.
When Nathan arrived and took Rocco home as Jason demanded, the emotional weight carried into the next scenes.
He brought Rocco home to Lulu, who, as she saw her son, knew something was not right. She was worried sick, trying to get her son to open up. Nathan filled her in as much as he could and swore her to secrecy.
Then he left to go over to the PCPD as Lulu attended to her son and her injuries. She desperately but also cautiously tried to get him to tell what went down, and when he finally did, it was mind-blowing.
Finn Carr is the Performer of the Week
And when he finally did, it landed.
Every word, every pause, every tear felt real.
Finn Carr didn’t just perform. He owned every scene he was in.
From quiet tension to full-on emotional breakdown, he hit every beat. His expressions, his timing, even the moments where he said nothing at all, it all worked.
This wasn’t just good. This was standout. Next-level work.
This is talent. This is an asset. Finn Carr, you are freaking awesome. Words are not enough to say it.
Well done. Hats off to you, young man, for this outstanding performance.
Congrats on being named Performer of the Week.
