It’s a big day for Joshua Benard, and not just because it’s his birthday. The youngest child of daytime royalty, and son of General Hospital‘s Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), has officially dropped his very first single, “Ladybug.”
And to make things even sweeter, Joshua is gearing up to bring his 2025 track to life with full visuals. A music video is on the way.
Fans first got a taste of the vibe last July when he shared an early social media version of the song. It immediately started gaining traction, and now Joshua is ready to take it to the next level. On Instagram, he shared his excitement, writing:
“LADYBUG IS FINALLY OUT. It’s also my 21st birthday, so if you want to give me a birthday present, stream the song and send Ladybug to your friends. I’ve said every year since I was 17 that I was gonna release a song, but I never did because I was scared it wouldn’t be good enough or people wouldn’t like it. Now, years later, I finally realized that all I have to do is make art that feels true to me and not worry about if people will like it (but I hope they do).”
Joshua Benard isn’t just known for being Maurice’s son; he’s been building a résumé of his own. As the youngest of Maurice and Paula Benard’s four children, he first appeared on General Hospital in 2018, playing a younger version of his dad’s iconic character.
More recently, he stepped into the role of Adam Wright from 2022 to 2024. His acting credits also include appearances on Days of Our Lives, Station 19, Good Trouble, and The Rehearsal.
It’s a milestone birthday, a debut single, and a brand-new chapter rolled into one. And something tells us Joshua Benard is just getting started.
