If you thought Port Charles was the only place where Laura Wright could command a room, think again. The General Hospital powerhouse, who plays Carly Spencer, recently stepped onto a movie set, and she is bringing some serious soap star energy with her.

No need to worry, though. She is not going anywhere. Wright is still very much a series regular on the ABC daytime drama, so Carly is not leaving your screens anytime soon.

This new project is just a fun extra.

What Is “Soapbox” About?

Wright recently teased on social media, X to be exact, that she filmed a cameo for the upcoming satirical comedy Soapbox. And this one feels tailor-made for daytime fans.

The film is written by and stars David Duchovny (who we all know from The X-Files and Californication), who plays an aging soap star trying to navigate life outside the bubble of daytime TV.

It is described as both a love letter to soaps and a playful roast of the genre, which makes it even more intriguing.

A Mini Soap Reunion

Laura is not the only familiar face involved. The cast is packed with daytime favorites.

Vincent Irizarry, a legend across multiple soaps, has a major role in the film as a character named Nikkos. Irizarry is known for playing roles on Days of Our Lives, All My Children, The Bold and the Beautiful, and more.

Meanwhile, Christopher Sean, who plays Paul Narita on Days, is also part of the project.

A Treat for Soap Fans

Between the concept and the cast, Soapbox is already sounding like a must-watch for anyone who loves daytime drama.

And with Laura Wright popping in for a cameo, you already know she is going to make it count.
