Spoilers for General Hospital on August 11, 2023: Finn makes a big ask of Liz. Sam updates Dante. Carly refuses Sonny’s help. Anna is targeted. Nina calls Ava.

General Hospital Episode Recap August 11, 2023: Anna’s House Burns

Liz finds Finn brooding on the roof of the hospital. He confides in her about a patient that he just lost. It is hitting him harder than normal because the man has a daughter in Violet’s class. He ponders what would happen to Violet if he died and asks Liz to be her guardian. Liz loves Violet like she is her own and happily accepts while also assuring Finn that he isn’t going anywhere. 

Mason summons Austin to his office to stitch up the cut on his head from where Carly bashed him with the bottle at the bar. They talk about how it happened and then discuss the situation with Betty and Ava. Austin assures Mason that Ava won’t slip to Sonny.

Ava places a frantic call to Sonny about Betty but he promises her that he has it under control and that Avery will be safe. Nina crawls into bed with him after he hangs up and snuggles up, telling him that she sleeps better next to him. Ned, Carly, and Olivia get hauled into the PCPD, proclaiming their innocence. Sam and Dante start to make out but she stops it to ask about Maxie moving into his empty house. Dante is surprised but thinks it is a good idea. 

The bar manager tells Chase that they are not pressing charges so he tells them that they can go as soon as someone is there to sign them out. Before Sam and Dante can get back to making out, Chase calls him to come down to the station because his mother is there. Sonny gets a call and leaves Nina sleeping alone in bed. When Dante gets to the station he offers to sign them out but Oliva is upset because she did nothing wrong and is thinks that if she agrees to be released into her son’s custody then she would be saying she did.

Sonny arrives as Dante is talking Olivia into letting him sign her out. Dante offers to sign them all out after Olivia agrees to go along with it for Leo’s sake but Sonny tells him that he will take care of Carly and Ned. After Dante and Olivia leave Carly tells Sonny that she isn’t going anywhere with him. Nina wakes up alone and calls Ava, freaking out. Ava explains to her that is how it goes when you are with a mob boss.  

Carly and Sonny argue about him getting her out and he accuses her of being stuck on her pride. She tells him that her pride is all she can rely on and Sonny says that he can rely on him. Carly scoffs at that and tells him to take Ned and leave. Sonny is frustrated but does as she asks. Chase asks if there is anyone else she wants to call but Carly says she will wait for Joss to answer her text. She tells him that he can put her in a holding cell but he offers to get her coffee instead. Dante goes home and picks up where he left off with Sam and they make love.

Anna goes for a run, unaware that there is someone lurking outside her house. After she is gone, the person goes inside and sets a fire, using kerosene. When Anna gets back she is horrified and calls 9-1-1.
