General Hospital Episode Recap August 22, 2023:
Austin Makes A (Big) House Call

Martin approaches Nina in the park and she thanks him for coming. He asks why they are meeting there and she tells him that she doesn’t want to be overheard again. She asks if he is still getting pressure from the SEC to reveal his client. He tells her to relax because since Drew went to prison, there will be no trial and the case is closed. He tells her that no one should ever have to know it was her who turned them in.

Dex eavesdrops outside of Austin’s office while Ava tells him how worried she is about everything. She wants details but Mason brushes her off and promises that she won’t go to jail for killing Nikolas and that everything is under control. Ava wants to know how. Austin tells her that Betty got the info Mason wanted and it will all be over soon. Austin gets a call to see a patient and walks Ava out.

Carly is at Kelly’s waiting for an employee that is running late when Willow comes in. They greet each other happily and Carly asks if there is anything Willow needs her to do. Willow tells her that she wants to do something for her. Carly and Willow talk about Drew being in solitary and Willow asks her to give him her love. Willow rails against the person who turned them in as Nina comes into Kelly’s.

Carly leaves quickly and Nina asks Willow if it was because of her. Willow tells her that Carly had plans to go visit Drew and talks about how unfair it is that Drew is in jail and how bad she feels for him after everything he did for her. Nina looks guilty but changes the subject to their relationship. Willow agrees that Nina pushes too much but points out that with her marrying Sonny they will be around each other more and have to figure out some sort of relationship.

Ava comes in and Willow leaves to go to Wiley. Ava asks if there is progress and Nina happily says there is. They talk about the nanny being a bitch and Ava says she won’t be a problem much longer. Ava mentions her being the reason Drew is in jail but Nina says that the SEC is dropping the case and as long as Ava stays quiet no one will ever know it was her who turned Drew and Carly in.

Finn arrives for an AA meeting and thinks about his conversation with his father. Alexis gets off the elevator at GH and is heading for the meeting when she gets delayed by a work call from Esme. Finn offers to share first and he talks vaguely about finding out his father is sick and a friend keeping important information from him. Alexis comes in toward the end and hears him say that he is resentful of his friend keeping it from him. He talks about his urge to use and how he is fighting it and gets a round of applause when he is done speaking.

After the meeting Alexis and Finn talk and she tries to explain why she didn’t tell him. He understands and blames himself for not seeing the signs. Finn also rages against himself for not spending enough time with his father like Gregory wanted. He also blames himself for not speaking to his father for so long. Alexis tries to comfort him and tells him that Gregory isn’t holding that against him. Alexis tells him that all they have is today and Finn vows to not waste a minute of it. He tells her that he doesn’t actually resent her for keeping the secret and tells her that he’s lucky to have her as a friend.

Jake and his friend, Wyatt, were skateboarding and Wyatt got hurt so he brings him to GH and Liz updates Austin about what happened. Austin treats Wyatt and tells him that he will be fine. Jake feels guilty but Wyatt assures him that it wasn’t his fault. He plans to ignore Austin’s orders to rest his arm and still play in the band concert. Dex is waiting out in the hall and sends a text to Gabe asking if they are all set.

Dr. Bronson arrives for his appointment with Gregory and brings TJ into the room with him so he can learn. They talk about Gregory’s diagnosis and symptoms and what he needs to do as his disease progresses. The doctor tells him he needs to wear leg braces at night and different hand and wrist braces. He tells Gregory that he can use a cane if he needs to but should not be driving. Gregory tells him that after what happened when he was watching Violet he had already decided to give up driving.

After his appointment, Gregory talks to Wyatt about his arm injury and convinces him that missing the concert to rest it and let it heal is the best thing he can do for the band. Finn and Liz smile as they watch from the nurse’s station.

Anna arrives at the PCPD and tells Dante she wants to know everything he knows. He tells her that he wants her to hire a bodyguard but she pushes back against that. She doesn’t think she needs a bodyguard because if they wanted her dead she would already be dead. Dante lectures her about being unsafe but she brushes it off.

Anna thinks someone is trying to destroy her life, not kill her. Dante apologizes for pushing but Anna thanks him for caring. Dante brings up Valentin and wonders why he lied to her. Anna defends him but Dante keeps pushing so Anna wants to see the proof he has. Dante wonders if Valentin could want her totally dependent on him but Anna says she knows that he loves her, she’s certain of it.

Dante tells her that it’s not just about her. He brings up Charlotte and what she means to him and tells her that he knows Valentin has changed but they can’t ignore his past. He reminds her that he is manipulative and asks if she can say for sure that there is no way he could have had something to do with it. Anna thinks whatever is going on with Valentin has something to do with Pikeman.

Anna tells him about the papers she found and Dante asks if he is working for Pikeman again. Anna doesn’t know and Dante suggests that maybe the shooting was Pikeman trying to kill Sonny and that they hired Valentin to set him up. Anna thinks the only reason Valentin could be working for Pikeman again is if they are forcing him to by blackmailing him. Dante suggests that they could also be threatening someone he loves like Charlotte. Anna hopes they are wrong and Valentin is clean. They agree to keep digging no matter where it leads.

Mason tells Austin that he has to be the one to deliver the flash drive to the boss. Austin says no but Mason tells him he has no choice. They are interrupted by TJ who recognizes Mason. He can’t place him and Mason brushes it off. After TJ leaves Austin asks how TJ knows him and Mason tells him that they may have crossed paths.

Drew waits for Carly in the visiting room and thinks about his conversation with Cyrus. Carly gets to her visit and Drew tells her that he loves her. She tells him the same and they clasp hands tightly. They talk about him being put into solitary and Carly doesn’t understand why he would help Cyrus. Drew tells her that he couldn’t just stand by and watch an old man be beat up by a younger one and Carly understands and tells him that is one of the reasons she loves him.

She is not thrilled when he tells her that he also saved Cyrus when he had the heart attack. Carly is worried that other inmates will think he is allied with Cyrus and that Cyrus’s enemies will come after him but Drew assures her that he’s ok. They see Austin walk through the visiting room and both wonder what he’s doing there.

Cyrus talks to God in the shower room and shaves his facial hair off and cuts his hair short. Mason thanks an unseen someone for taking the time to meet him in an alley. Austin walks into the prison infirmary to see his patient and sees that it’s a grinning Cyrus.
