General Hospital Episode Recap June 19, 2023: Jordan Gets A New Job

Ava is on the phone to Austin while she searches Sonny’s penthouse. She doesn’t find anything and his office door is locked. She looks in drawers for a key while Austin suggests it might be too dangerous to be searching right now. Ava is determined to do it because she doesn’t know when she will get another chance. She hears someone coming and hangs up quickly. 

Ava pretends she was reading a magazine when Pilar, the nanny comes in. She tells Pilar that Sonny and Nina had to go out so she was just sitting with the girls until she got there but that she had to go to. Her behavior makes the nanny suspicious and she notices an open drawer after Ava leaves.  

At the hospital, Austin runs into Laura who is very unsteady on her feet. He helps her sit down and gets her some water. Laura tells him that she is going to Chechnya and had to have blood work and he tries to talk her out of going because of the danger. He uses the angle of a concerned constituent but Laura is undeterred, determined to go and look for her son.

After Laura leaves, Austin meets Ava in his office and they discuss her search and his talk with Laura. Ava tells him that the nanny almost caught her and that she doesn’t know how they are going to get the information that Mason wants. Austin suggests that she get Sonny to fire Pilar so a new nanny can be hired, one that will help them. Ava is reluctant because Avery loves Pilar but eventually agrees.

In Ned’s room, everyone is shocked that he thinks that he is Eddie Maine. TJ asks him some questions and he tells them that he doesn’t recognize any of them. TJ asks them all to wait outside while he examines Ned. In the waiting room, Olivia is scared that Ned might never remember and Brook Lynn tries to calm her down before going to find Dante and Leo. Before she leaves, Brook Lynn admonishes Tracy to be supportive of Olivia and not mean.

Nina is trying to find the words to tell Sonny what she did when they are interrupted by Dante and Leo. Sonny goes over to talk to Leo to try and make him feel better about his father’s condition while Dante chats with Nina. Brook Lynn finds them and tells them that Ned woke up but he’s confused. She asks Dante to take Leo to Olivia while she tells Sonny and Nina what’s going on. 

Brook Lynn tells them that Ned has no idea who he is and that he thinks is he Eddie Maine and isn’t married and doesn’t have children. She tells them that he doesn’t remember the accident either. Sonny comforts her and after she leaves he asks Nina what she wanted to tell him. She lies and tells him that she lost her engagement ring down the drain while doing a face mask. He tells her that it’s not a big deal and that he’s worried about how she’s been acting. 

Dante and Leo hug Olivia and Leo plays off to the side while TJ updates them about Ned’s condition. He tells them he wants to call in specialists to examine him and they won’t know if Ned’s memory has been permanently affected until they get more information. When no one is looking Leo wanders into Ned’s room. He calls him Dad and Ned tells him that he’s not his father. 

In the waiting room, Brook Lynn notices that Leo is missing and finds him in Ned’s room. She tells Leo they should go wait outside because Dad’s not feeling well and Ned snaps that he isn’t their father. Leo runs out of the room upset and Brook Lynn wants to follow him but Tracy insists that she should go. She finds him playing with his toy and they talk about what is going on with Ned, sharing a touching moment as Tracy makes him feel better.

Portia demands that Zeke tell her what he was talking about regarding Curtis’s behavior since their wedding. He tries to brush her off but she will not relent. Finally, he tells her about Curtis kissing Jordan and how he found out. He also admits to sleeping with Jordan. Portia doesn’t want to believe it and tries to find another explanation for what she meant but finally has to admit the truth.

Curtis and Trina hang out by the pool and talk about her living situation and her relationship with Portia. Curtis encourages her to try to forgive her mother and suggests that they go find her in the restaurant. When they find Zeke and Portia, Zeke takes Trina back to the pool so Curtis and Portia can talk. After they are gone Portia asks Curtis about the kiss.

Curtis is surprised that Portia knows but doesn’t deny it. He tries to downplay it but she wants to know how it happened. He explains the situation but Portia thinks there is more to it. Curtis tells her that Jordan is his past and he wants her to be his future. Out at the pool, Trina is worried about her mother and Zeke tries to make her feel better without telling her what’s going on. He tells her she is reminding him of when she was little and defended her mother all the time. Trina tells him that even mad at her mother she won’t stand by and let someone hurt her.

Jordan tries to call Curtis to warn him about Zeke knowing about the kiss but gets his voicemail. She starts to leave a message but changes her mind. Laura comes in and tells her that she needs her resignation. Jordan is confused until Laura explains that she wants to promote her to acting Deputy Mayor but can’t do it while she is still Police Commissioner. Jordan turns her down at first but eventually, Laura talks her into it. Laura congratulates her and asks her to find her replacement.
