Spoilers for General Hospital on Tuesday, September 12, 2023: Sonny makes a confession; Gladys gets alarming news; Chase’s curiosity is piqued; Liz realizes Jake is growing up; and Michael pays a surprise visit.

General Hospital Episode Recap Tuesday, September 12, 2023: Cody Gets Through To Sasha

Cody gets Sasha to the cabin and finds the key that Sam hid for them. They get inside and he tries to keep Sasha awake and get her to drink some water. Sasha freaks out, thinking that he’s Dr. Montague but finally sees that he’s Cody and calms down. She asks where they are and he tells her that they’re safe. He recounts what happened and promises that Dr. Montague won’t hurt her again. 

Cody tries to get her to hydrate because she’s going through withdrawals but she freaks out again. Cody pushes her and tells her that she can do it and he’s with her. He tells her to fight and she tells him that she doesn’t want to anymore. Cody tells her that she has to for Brando and Liam. Sasha lashes out at him but he holds strong and keeps supporting her and pushing her to fight. 

Sasha tells him some of her history and tells him that there’s nothing left for her in Port Charles. Cody tells her that there are people who love her and she says she has no one left. Cody tells her that she has him. Cody keeps pushing her to drink water and Sasha tries. She asks why he is still there. She says everyone has left her but him. He tells her that as long as she fights he will be with her. 

Sasha brings up stabbing him but he says that was the drugs, not her. He tells her that she is free and safe and tells her to get some rest. He promises no one will hurt her while he’s there. Sasha lies down and Cody sits by the bed. Sasha reaches out and takes his hand before closing her eyes.

Gladys gets to Ferncliff in time to hear Janice tell a police officer about Sasha and Cody’s escape. Gladys freaks out, saying Cody kidnapped Sasha but the nurse says Sasha seemed to go willingly. 

The GH and PCPD softball players come to Charlie’s to celebrate their wins. Kristina buys a round for everyone. Dante comes in and kisses Sam and Chase tells him that her stepping in for him helped them win. Violet, Finn, and Liz talk about the game and Violet wonders where Jake is. Michael and Willow talk about how she’s feeling and she tells him how much fun she had cheering her team on.

Michael tells her that he wishes he had been there with her but she says he had somewhere more important to be. Kristina brings their drinks over and the PCPD team toasts to Sonny. Kristina rages against the FBI and wonders if they can sue them but Sam advises her to just be happy that Sonny went free. Chase thinks something doesn’t add up with Sonny’s arrest.

Michael and Willow talk about the recording and she tells him not to beat himself up because he never used it against Sonny. Michael still feels guilty and Willow tries to make him feel better. Michael admits to her that he doesn’t want Sonny in prison. Jake and Charlotte come in and Violet loudly points them out. 

Violet asks if Jake and Charlotte were on a date and they both look uncomfortable. Kristina compliments Dante on going to court for Sonny and Chase agrees with her. Michael tells Willow that there’s something he has to take care of and he’ll be back in about an hour. He kisses her before leaving. Willow calls Wiley to check on him and they talk about what happened with Sonny in court. 

Jake and Charlotte go to get sodas and Violet tries to follow them but Finn stops her and tells her to go talk to Chase. Liz and Finn talk about Jake and Charlotte. Liz worries that they’re too young and Finn tries to make her feel better. They talk about Chase not knowing about Gregory’s diagnosis and Finn says that he’s happy that he still has time without knowing. 

Kristina and Dante talk about Michael going to court and how happy Sonny was to see him there. Kristina thinks that Michael will see how good Nina is for Sonny. Chase gets a call from work when he is talking about softball with Finn and Liz. Violet and Willow talk about Jake and Charlotte and Willow tells her gently to leave them alone. Chase tells Dante about Sasha and Cody escaping Ferncliff. 

Jake and Charlotte talk about his art and she proposes that they create a graphic novel together. Willow tries to explain to Violet why she should leave Jake and Charlotte alone but Violet keeps asking questions. Liz tells Finn that when he lets himself have fun, he’s good at it. Willow tells Kristina how relieved she is that the charges against Sonny were dropped. They talk about when he was arrested at the MetroCourt. 

Dante brings Sam home and tells her that Sasha and Cody escape. He tells her that he thinks she knew that already though. Dante tells her what happened at Ferncliff and says that when she plans a breakout, she plans a breakout. He tells her that he hopes everything works out ok. 

Sonny and Nina get to the penthouse and she asks if it’s good to be home. He tells her that it’s good to be home with her before kissing her. Nina tells Sonny how scared she was and he tells her that he knew he was not going to be convicted. He tells her about how he set the whole thing up without giving her all of the details and Nina is shocked. She promises Sonny she can handle his life and wants to be with him.

Michael arrives to talk to Sonny and Nina gets a 9-1-1 text from Gladys asking her to meet her downstairs quickly. She makes up a cover story and leaves quickly. After she leaves Michael and Sonny talk and Michael apologizes for how he’s been acting toward his father. Sonny tells him that he was entitled to his feelings and he knows he did a lot of damage.

They talk about Michael and Morgan when they were little and how Michael knew Sonny was more than a coffee importer from a young age. Michael calls him Dad and admits that he was furious with him. He tells him that there were times he wanted him prosecuted and convicted but that when he was in the courtroom he realized that he didn’t want his father to go to prison. Michael tells Sonny that he doesn’t want to be angry at him anymore. Sonny tells him that no matter what he’s his son and he loves him. Michael says he loves Sonny too before leaving. 

Nina gets downstairs and Gladys tells her that Sasha has been kidnapped. Nina asks what happened and Gladys tells her what happened at Ferncliff but says that the nurse said Sasha was kidnapped by Cody. Gladys tells Nina that she thinks Cody was working with the doctor who was holding Sasha at Ferncliff.
