Poolside Praise and Sibling Waves
Today’s episode of General Hospital was filled with a lot of movement. Scout did her big swim at the Quartermaine lake, Lucy and Tracy clashed, and Cody revealed that Spinelli and his family moved out of Port Charles. Let’s talk about everything that went down on July 23!
Emma is surprised to see Gio working at the Metro Court Pool. After all, he just signed a big music deal. He explains he isn’t going to abandon his lifeguard job just yet. While they are getting all lovey-dovey, Charlotte shows up. “Hi Gio, hey Emma,” she salutes. Charlotte praises Gio for saving a little boy’s life.
At the same time, Sonny approaches Rocco. Sonny wants a moment to talk with his grandson. He explains that he knows about the shooting. He understands why Rocco didn’t tell him, and he reminds Rocco that he never has to keep anything secret from him.
Later, Charlotte approaches Rocco and wonders why he is still so mad at her. Rocco is sad that she keeps taking Danny’s side as the siblings clash right there at the pool.
Covering the Case and Connecting the Dots
Dante checks in with Laura after she asks to see him. Anna is back and looking into the Cullum case evidence, so Laura wants to know if they should be worried. Laura knows Rocco was the shooter. Dante tells her she has no reason to worry. There is no evidence tying Rocco to the shooting.
Laura notes there is no evidence for the shooting at all. That can be a problem. Anna already noticed the file is missing, and its disappearance has her asking questions. Dante admits that while serving as interim Police Commissioner, he used his position to shield his son. He was the one who destroyed all the evidence! Later, Sonny pays Laura a visit, and they discuss Rocco shooting Cullum.
Anna Has an Offer for Chase
Over at the PCPD, Chase meets with Anna. She wants to know why he was demoted. Chase wastes no time explaining what happened with Willow’s case. He believes Michael framed Willow. That led to his demotion, and he knows he was wrong for using his access to a department case to disprove it. However, he assures Anna he was not the one who erased the footage placing Willow near Drew’s house.
Anna is interested in uncovering anything linking Cassius and Britt to the conspiracy with Cullum. She promises that if Chase helps her with that, she will reinstate him as a detective.
Dante shows up, and Chase leaves. He reveals to Anna that he understands she is looking for the Ross Cullum shooting evidence. Dante points out that she won’t find it because it is lost permanently. Dante says the evidence disappeared on his watch, and he takes full responsibility.
Anna understands, knowing he is not irresponsible. She even suggests they leave that case closed. Dante promises that if anything changes, he will give her an explanation. She also asks him to be a little warmer to Officer Chase because she wants them back as partners.
After Dante leaves, Peter August shows up as a hallucination. Anna realizes Dante is protecting his son. There can’t be any other explanation!
G’Day, Port Charles! Maxie’s Family Heads South
Cody tells Molly that Spinelli, James, Georgie, and Maxie are moving to Australia. The whole family is traumatized by Cassius’s lies and excited to leave. Right then and there, Felicia and Mac show up at Bobbie’s and greet everyone.
James greets Molly, but not Cody. They talk about the big news of the move to Australia. While Molly and James look at photos, Mac apologizes to Cody for James taking the Cassius mess out on him. Mac thinks it’s time to fix things, but Cody prefers to stay out of it.
Cody approaches James and Molly to tell James a nice story about a calf’s birth. He wishes James was there to see it, and Cody shows him a video of the little guy standing up. James notes that his mom told him Australia is going to be hot—a lot hotter than Port Charles—and he lost his hat. Cody goes and brings his hat back to him. He and Cody promise to check in via weekly video calls.
Making Waves at the Lake and Corporate Takes
Alexis and Michael stay with Scout, who is ready to do her swim at the Quartermaine lake. Willow and Nina bring Drew, and Scout is happy to see him. “You made it,” she says excitedly. “I can’t believe you’re actually here,” she notes as she hugs him. Alexis gets her timer ready, everyone counts down, and Scout jumps in the water.
Entering the boathouse, Nina encourages Willow to go if she needs to. Willow refuses. She points out that Drew is getting stronger by the minute, and they both need to be there just in case.
Nina encourages Willow to take the kids and leave town, but Willow thinks that’s a bad idea. Instead, if Brennan can’t help her, she needs to get help from someone else. As Nina sings Brennan’s praises, Willow puts two and two together and realizes her mom slept with him!
Who Did Maxie Sell Her Deception Shares to on GH?
Over in business news, Tracy contacts Maxie, and so does Lucy. They show up, and Lucy and Tracy clash. Lucy wants Tracy to sell her all her shares, assuming Maxie sold her shares to Tracy. However, that’s not the case, leaving them to wonder who Maxie sold them to.
Later, Michael arrives and reveals Maxie sold her shares to him! Michael makes it clear that family allegiance or not, he is going to make decisions based on the good of the company. Lucy makes it clear he cannot make unilateral decisions on his first day.
Michael explains he knows he doesn’t have controlling shares, but he only needs one person to vote with him. Tracy says no, and Lucy says no too. However, Brook Lynn takes Michael’s side.
Rocco shows up as Scout comes out of the water, rejoicing that she did it. Alexis tells her the time was 44 minutes and 34 seconds! Meanwhile, Willow tells Nina they have to think fast before Drew comes out of his state and upends her life. As Scout stays with her dad, Nina looks on as if she has a bright idea to push Drew right into the lake!
