General Hospital recurring star, Vernee Watson (Stella Henry), stays booked and busy. The actress has a new role in the hit CBS prime time drama, Matlock. And guess what? She’ll be playing a lead character’s mother. According to a press release from the network, Watson will guest star as Olympia’s Mother, Celeste.
The episode is titled Prior Bad Acts. It is scheduled to air on December 4 and features Olympia working to repair her relationship with her family after she takes on a case involving her mother’s new husband. Also, Matty and Olympia receive a shocking piece of information. This installment is directed by Tessa Blake and written by Sheridan Watson and Katie Wech.
Although this is a guest role for now, it has the potential to develop into a recurring part.

Vernee is no stranger to the acting world or to primetime television. With a career spanning over 50 years, Vernee Watson has appeared in numerous hit shows, including Bob Hearts Abishola, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (where she played Will Smith’s mother), The Resident, Young Sheldon, NCIS, School of Rock, Two and a Half Men, and many more.
