Sydney Mikayla’s (Trina Robinson, General Hospital) last
episode aired today. Mikayla has been on
GH since 2019 and she’s leaving the soap opera to focus on her academic career
and to have the opportunity to truly enjoy the college experience. Tabyana Ali will be stepping into the role
later this month.
Mikayla posted an emotional and touching goodbye to her
fellow castmates, crew, and fans on Instagram. She shared a series of pictures such as:
behind the scenes photos on set, promotional photos that were taken for the
show, out on the town pictures with some of her co-stars, and a small video of
the crew thanking her when she wrapped her final taping (which were the scenes
where Trina confronted Esme after Esme accused Trina of recording and leaking
Joss & Cam’s sex tape).
Along with the photos and video, she shared the following in
her caption, “I wanted to wait until my last episode premiered to give a
proper goodbye, but I want to thank everyone who made my journey as magical as
it was. I have some castmates to thank
first:
@williamlipton (Cameron) I will always miss goofing off on set with
you. You have incredible energy and your
amazing songwriting will always put a smile on my face.
@edenmccoy (Josslyn) You never fail to inspire me. You are such a talent to work beside and I
couldn’t have asked for a better on screen bestie.
@nicholasalexanderchavez (Spencer) You were an amazing first
onscreen love interest. For this to be
for first acting job, I think you’ve got a major career ahead (you have to say
you knew me when 😉)
@averypohl (Esme) The sweetest and kindest person ever! Although
I haven’t known you for very long, you’ve told me your goals, and your brilliance
is going to change the world. I mean that ❤️
@brookkerr (Portia) Your words of wisdom have been heeded, and
I’ve learned to take advantage of and be grateful for everything you’ve taught
me along away.
@maurawest (Ava) I will miss you so. You are a gem, and I’m so
grateful to have worked with you.

Mikayla’s portrayal of Trina Robinson resonated with
fans. She most definitely kept Trina
grounded and real which made fans instantly fall in love with her (both actress
and character). Mikayla had Trina go
from being just Josslyn’s BFF to so much more: a teen (then young woman) with a
family, a meaningful job, hopes & dreams, and a part of two love triangles
(Joss/Cam/Trina and Trina/Spencer/Esme).
Mikayla’s undeniable chemistry with Chavez made Spencer and Trina (affectionately
known as Sprina) an instant success. Mikayla
had amazing chemistry with all of her cast mates that it was no wonder fans so
badly wanted to see more stories for her and Trina.
Mikayla will be deeply missed on General Hospital and we wish her all of
the best in her future endeavors!
