General Hospital alum Marcus Coloma (ex-Nikolas Cassadine) has been keeping his fans entertained on Instagram since his exit from the show. He has even been doing an interesting online video series with Kin Shriner (Scott Baldwin, GH). Recently, the actor successfully underwent heart surgery! Coloma shared the news with his followers via an inspiring reel on his Instagram just days later.
In the video, he showcases his impressive musical talents on the piano, complemented by clips of his time in a hospital bed. In a candid voiceover, Coloma discusses his journey leading up to the operation: “I had a heart procedure on Monday. For the last three or four years, there was this secret thought in my head that I was dying. And I knew I was being dramatic, but it was still there, and it was depressing. And there was something wrong, but no one could tell me what it was.”
He admits that finally a physical therapist checked his heart, which opened the door for him to get answers. Coloma quips, “I ended up going to a cardiologist and having the procedure done, and he said, ‘In 40 years, thousands of surgeries, I have never seen a heart like yours.’ Coloma joked, “We all knew my heart was one in a million, right?” Thankfully he adds, “The good news is, now that it’s fixed, there won’t be any more problems, and I should be healthy. And I’m very grateful.”
