The queen of Hallmark is officially turning her latest movie into a family affair. For the first time ever, Alison Sweeney (aka Sami Brady, Days of Our Lives) will share the screen with her 17-year-old daughter, Megan Sanov. This will also serve as Megan’s acting debut!
For over three decades, we’ve watched Alison Sweeney star as the ever-michievous Sami Brady in Salem on Days. But her latest Hallmark project features a guest star that no casting director could have imagined. What makes it so special isn’t it just a shared DNA. In this upcoming Hallmark number, Romance at Hope Ranch, Alison and Megan play exactly who they are, mother and daughter.
The Mother-Daughter Duo
In the film, Alison’s character, Hope, grapples with the emotional weight of entering the empty nest phase after her daughter leaves for college.
But for Alison, the tears seen on screen weren’t entirely scripted. In a recent interview, she revealed that filming the scene where she drops her daughter off at college felt like an emotional rehearsal for real life — as her own daughter, Megan, is preparing to head to college this year.
Sweeney initially hesitated when her producing partner, Craig Baumgarten, suggested casting Megan in the role. She was unsure about her daughter stepping into the acting business so soon. Ultimately, though, she realized the opportunity would give them precious time together before Megan leaves for college. And so, here we are.
Hallmark’s Loveuary Finale
Fans won’t have to wait long to see this talented mother-daughter duo in action. Romance at Hope Ranch is set to premiere on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 8/7c. The heartwarming film serves as the grand finale of Hallmark’s popular “Loveuary” lineup.
The movie, which stars Alison Sweeney alongside her real-life daughter, Megan, also features Gabrielle Hogan playing the leading man. The story promises a beautiful tale that’s sure to resonate with anyone who loves a heartfelt second-chance romance.
