Starting Thursday February 17th, Helena Mattsson will temporarily step in for her sister, Sofia Mattsson, as Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital. She is only expected to air for a few episodes.
Helena is Sofia’s older sister and who Sofia credits with getting her into acting. The temporary role was Sofia’s idea initially but her big sister thought she was joking, telling Soap Opera Digest, “I thought she was joking at first. But of course I said yes!”
She only had a day to get ready for the role but said Sasha’s costar and onscreen love interest, Johnny Wactor who plays Brando Corbin was very supportive. “He’s such a sweet guy. And very talented. He definitely put me at ease.”
Helena had teased the appearance on her Instagram in January with a picture of her at the GH studios with the caption, “Such a blast jumping in on my sisters show for the day.”
Helena Mattsson has many acting credits including American Horror Story and The Rookie.
