Longtime Days of our Lives star Billy Flynn is trading in his role as Chad DiMera for something brand new—and mysterious—on The Young and the Restless. After weeks of buzz and speculation, a new TV Guide magazine issue confirms that Flynn will officially make his Y&R debut during the week of June 16—that’s next week!
Flynn’s upcoming role has been kept tightly under wraps, but fan theories are pointing toward one highly anticipated character: Aristotle Dumas, a name that’s been floating around Genoa City for months but has yet to make an appearance.
When will Billy Flynn debut on The Young and the Restless?
While CBS hasn’t confirmed who will be playing Dumas, things are heating up fast. Several major Y&R characters are heading to Dumas’ luxurious chateau in Nice, France on June 13, and it’s widely speculated that’s where Flynn’s character will finally be revealed.
This new chapter marks the end of an era for Flynn, who first joined Days of our Lives in 2014. Reflecting on his departure, Flynn told TV Guide that while he loves the Days family, he felt his version of Chad had run its course.
“It wasn’t for money,” Flynn said. “I wanted to feel excited again about the work, and I wanted to work with different people and learn more.”
He explains that this job came calling at the right time. Although he hasn’t spilled any details about his Y&R role, Flynn assured fans that he’s fully invested and hopes viewers enjoy what he’s bringing to the table.
