It was recently announced that Tabyana Ali will be stepping
into the role of Trina Robinson on General Hospital after Sydney Mikayla exits
next week. Ali had a Q&A via her Instagram
stories and here is what we learned!
Ali’s birthday is January 28th which makes Aquarius
her Zodiac sign. She is 20 years old and
she’s from Texas. Ali stated that Nicki
Minaj is her favorite female rapper although she enjoys listening to whatever
music makes her feel good. When asked if
she can sing and dance, she responded, “I feel obligated to say yes to
both”. As for General Hospital, she mentioned
that everyone on set is “so kind and fun to work with” and that she’s very
excited about being on the soap opera. She
stated that her first day at GH was so smooth and that it was the auditioning
process that was more stressful. When
asked what research did she do to prepare, Ali mentioned that she watched a lot
of soap operas. She watched all four soaps
that are currently on the air in order to get a better understanding of how
they feel and work. She also shared that
the first episode of GH can be found on YouTube!
When it comes to the history of the Cassadine’s
in particular, Ali mentioned that she personally would just pack her bags and
leave (honestly can’t blame her; the Cassadine’s are an interesting family, to
say the least). Ali screen-tested with
Donnell Turner (Curtis Ashford) so it appears that the soap opera might get
back to the storyline of the possibility that Trina is Curtis’ daughter and not
Taggert’s (which fans have a mixed view on). When asked if she feels comfortable doing mature scenes, she responded, “We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it!”. Ali was also asked if she’s team Sprina
(Spencer and Trina) and she responded with the following emojis: 👁👄👁
Arguably the most interesting fun fact was her response when
asked if she ever got to meet or talk to Mikayla: “So crazy story, about 3
years ago Sydney and I went out for Trina. It was down to me, her, and maybe one other girl. I saw her at the producer session and we
exchanged ‘Hello’s’ and good lucks’ and then a few hours later that day we saw
each other at a gathering in City Walk and we were like ‘Oh my gosh, hi! So crazy seeing you here’. I still think its so wild and mind-blowing
that we are getting to share Trina. I
thank Sydney for laying down such a powerful and beautiful foundation on
GH. It’s great to see how many people love
her! She made it easy for me to play
Trina ❤️ ”.
We do love Mikayla and wish her all the best in her future
endeavors and we are excited to see what Ali will bring to the table as she
steps into the role. We look forward to
learning more about Ali!
