Could Matthew Atkinson be returning as Thomas Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful?
Fans are starting to think so after a recent Instagram reel shared by Matthew Atkinson that might just be giving away his location.
In the reel, Atkinson is seen playing a game of cornhole. His caption? “Second time’s a charm.” On the first try, he misses the hole, but the second shot lands right in. Simple, right? But fans are reading between the lines, and the timing has them buzzing.
Atkinson first appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2019, taking over the role of Thomas Forrester after previously playing Austin Travers on The Young and the Restless from April 2014 to August 2015. His last appearance on B&B was in 2024 when Thomas packed up and moved to Paris with his fiancée Paris and his son.
So why the sudden speculation?
Well, The Bold and the Beautiful is making a big move. After 38 years of filming at Television City, the show is shifting to Sunset Las Palmas Studios in Los Angeles. Production at the new location kicks off after the summer hiatus, starting Tuesday, August 19.
Could Atkinson’s cornhole post be a playful hint at his return? Maybe it’s just a casual game… or maybe it’s the start of his second round on the show.

UPDATE: Soap Opera Digest confirms that Atkinson will be back on The Bold and the Beautiful starting in September.
