Josh Kelly is keeping fans quite entertained with his role as Cody Bell on General Hospital, but he also has something new in the pipeline: a film called The Workout.
Kelly is the latest guest on the Daily Drama Podcast, one hosted by his General Hospital co-stars Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) and Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). It was quite the episode as Josh Kelly delved into being Mac’s (John J. York) son and keeping the secret from him. Not only that, but Kelly spoke about the slow-burn romance between his alter ego and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson).
Josh Kelly Works On New Film: The Workout
While there is clearly a lot more to learn about Cody Bell, we are also intrigued to learn more about Kelly’s character in the upcoming film that he will be working on. Kelly will be taking a brief time away from General Hospital film but he noted in the podcast that they were able to work something out regarding his schedule. Luckily, GH will be on hiatus next week when he begins filming the new project. He also shared that it should take about three weeks to complete.
As for what the film is about, Josh Kelly said, “It’s pretty cool. I’m doing a revenge pic called The Workout Video. It was about two former special forces guys. Now, its about two ex-army rangers, because technically it’s a little more difficult than becoming a Navy Seal.”
Deadline reports, The film follows two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.
The action film stars Peter Jae, Ashlee Evans-Smith, Kristos Andrews, Augie Duke, Galadriel Stineman, David Josh Lawrence , and BJ Hendricks. It is written by David Josh Lawrence and James Cullen Bressack.
