When Bobbie Eakes left daytime, she left many fans craving more of her acting in the genre. Eakes is quite fondly remembered for her portrayal of Macy Alexander on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ and Krystal Carey on ‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life to Live’. She exited daytime in 2011 when All My Children’s run on ABC came to end. So, what has she been up to since then?
Firstly, in 2011 Eakes played the role of Hillary in the movie “A Christmas Wedding Tail”. The movie focuses on love at first sight when Rusty the Labrador and Cheri the Poodle meet one day while jogging in the park. Even better- their owners fall in love too! But love is more complicated for the people, Susan and Jake, who marry and attempt to join together their large family of five children. With kids fighting and a household in complete chaos, it’s up to the dogs to keep the family together.
Eakes then made an appearance as Mrs. Mackenzie in the series “Who is Billie MacKenzie” in 2011. After this, she made several appearances as Janice in the series “Fumbling Thru the Pieces” in 2012. Eakes then played the role of Katherine in the 2013 movie “The Grove” and Abilene in the 2013 movie “Sunny and RayRay” which tells the story of a woman who after losing contact with and the financial support of her sexually abusive father, Sunny begins to unravel just as she meets a man with whom she believes she can build a new life. Eakes also played the role of Mark’s Mother in the movie “Southern Baptist Sissies” in 2013. Southern Baptist Sissies is the story of four boys who are gay growing up in the Southern Baptist Church and how they each deal differently with the conflict between the teachings of the church and their sexuality.
Eakes then appeared in the short “The Diamond in the Desert” in 2015. Fans who have been missing her since then can catch her in the webs series “Tainted Dreams” in which she plays the role of Courtney Parish. She also played the role of Pam Walters in the 2016 movie “Distortion”. Aside from acting, Eakes is a well recognized recording artist.
