Kellen Enriquez, who plays Harrison Lock on The Young and the Restless, was recently subjected to online bullying over the length of his hair in a set photo from an upcoming episode of the show.
His parents took to his personal Instagram to call out the bullying. They posted the set photo with the caption, “To people saying Kellen needs a haircut: If you must know, he was scared & didn’t want to do it so I didn’t push. He was finally ready last month and I was excited (as it was obviously getting a bit messy). To see such hateful words towards an innocent 5yo is so upsetting. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Kellen really enjoys his family on the show &we are grateful for this opportunity.”
They also posted a newer photo of Kellen, showing off his new haircut, saying, “& it’s still long-ish. Maybe one day it won’t be, but until then, maybe politely think about bullying 5 yo on the internet…”.
Online bullying is not new and it is never ok but it is especially bad when it is directed toward a child. To those who took part in the bullying, do better and to Kellen, we adore you as Harrison no matter how long or short your hair is. Keep doing what you do!
