After 21 years of dishing out drama as Sam McCall, Kelly Monaco wrapped her run on General Hospital on September 27, where she filmed her grand exit. Standing there in her final set attire (a hospital gown) and a bouquet of flowers, Monaco got emotional as she delivered a farewell speech to her colleagues.
In a video clip shared on X, the soap vet stated, “I’ve been on this lot for 25 years, and you have all been my family—not only my second family, but my first family. And I just thank each and every one of you for all these memories and this experience that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life. Mark Teschner, you started this whole journey for me, and it has been a wild ride, and it will not be the last that you see of me. Thank you very much for having me.”
Monaco joined General Hospital, making her debut on October 1, 2003. Prior to this, she portrayed Tess/Livvie Locke on Port Charles. Throughout her illustrious career in soaps, she secured two Daytime Emmy Award nominations, one for GH and another for PC. In August of this year, Soap Opera Network broke the news that Monaco had been let go from the show, with her final appearance occurring on November 1. (Photo: ABC)
