The Daytime Emmy Awards are just around the corner. But, just before that big moment on May 5, we are predicting the winners. Starting with the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, see who we think will win below!
Jon Lindstrom – Kevin Collins/Ryan Chamberlain, General Hospital
Lindstrom had an amazing year. Playing dual roles, he was able to showcase his acting chops to a T. Though he has been in Daytime for over 30 years, this is his 2nd nomination and if he wins, it will be his first. Lindstrom is actually who we predict for the win in this category.
Maurice Benard – Sonny Corinthos, General Hospital
Benard is another actor who had an amazing year, with a father with Alzheimer’s and some of his very own outstanding material tackling relevant issues. Benard has been nominated for the Emmys quite a few times in the category of Oustanding Supporting Actor and Outstanding Lead Actor. He won the award for Lead actor in 2003. It’s quite possible he could win again!
Tyler Christopher – Stefan DiMera, Days of Our Lives
Likewise, Christopher was given some great material to work with during the course of the year. Christopher was nominated in all three categories over the years. He won the award for Lead Actor in 2016 for his role as Nikolas Cassadine on General Hospital. Will he win again this year?
Peter Bergman – Jack Abbott, The Young and the Restless
Bergman is another strong contender in this category. Bergman has been nominated numerous times since 1983. Over the years he was only nominated in this category. He won the award for Lead Actor in 1991, 1992 and 2002. It’s quite possible he could nab his fourth win this year. We predict that if Lindstrom doesn’t win Bergman stands a strong chance of taking home the award.
Billy Flynn – Chad DiMera, Days of Our Lives
He’s worked quite hard this past year. He’s done amazing work with the material he was given and hence received his second award nomination since his debut in 2014. If Flynn wins, this will be first time winning an Emmy.
