While the cameras were still rolling, a TMZ reporter caught up with Pepe and asked him directly about the breakup rumors that had been circulating online. Pepe was quick to clarify that not everything on the internet is accurate, but he did confirm that he and Iris are no longer a couple.
The news may come as a surprise to fans, especially since Iris and Pepe seemed very much together during the reunion episode that aired on August 25. Not only were they seated next to each other, but they also appeared affectionate throughout the show. The reunion was filmed after the finale, so the split must have happened pretty recently.
This marks the third breakup out of the top four couples from Season 7. First, Huda and Chris revealed during the finale that they had decided to part ways. Then, Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales confirmed their breakup on social media after a while of speculation.
