Marc Anthony Samuel Dishes on His Future with General Hospital, His Character Felix, Upcoming Projects & More!

I must first acknowledge the awesome job you do on the show [General Hospital], Personally I wish you had more of a front burner storyline, will we ever see that happening anytime soon?

Marc: Thank you so much. I always love being able to do my thing, and to be a part of stories which people like. To my knowledge, there is no current storyline revolving around Felix DuBois. I would love to see that happen as well. I guess the fans will have to keep asking for it.

What would it take to get you back on contract with the show?

Marc: GH would first have to ask to put me on contract. Then from there, we’d have to go over the details, so everyone is getting what they need. I’m very open to it. Port Charles is a fun place to work!

You’ve done some great storylines since you’ve been on the show, most significantly is the Brad/Lucas/Felix triangle, what was that like?

Marc: That was a fun experience, getting to work with consummate professionals in Parry Shen and Ryan Carnes. Plus, I got the privilege of friendship with the both of them.

Will we ever see Felix in another heated romance on the show?

Marc: Well, according to where GH left off, Felix was involved with an off-screen character who works as an entertainment reporter. Hopefully we’ll either see him again onscreen, or maybe someone else stepping up to win Felix’s heart. What do you guys want to see? Let the writers/producers know!

I must say I miss seeing Felix and Sabrina having their usual “bestie” convos – how was it preparing for Sabrina’s death and have you kept in touch with her portrayer Teresa Castillo since her exit?

Marc: Spoke to Teresa just last week. She is doing really well! Prepping for Sabrina’s death was a lot of tough and fun work. Tough, because of the subject. Fun, because this is what actors love to do.

What can fans look forward to for Felix in the near future?

Marc: Your guess is as good as mine. The writers and producers are ultimately responsible for what happens to our friend, Mr. DuBois.

So, outside of ‘GH’ you got a couple movies coming up – tell us more about those?

Marc: I do. I have a small part in an upcoming feature entitled, ” A Crooked Somebody” featuring Ed Harris, Clifton Collins Jr. (Westworld), Rich Sommer (Mad Men), JoAnne Froggatt (Downtown Abbey). It’s a suspenseful thriller about deception gone wrong. I got to do my scenes with Ms. Froggatt. She’s truly wonderful to work with.

The other film I’m doing is an indie by director Seaton Lin, called, “Rumor From Ground Control” I can’t say too much other than it’s a thriller, and it’s one of my most interesting character challenges to date. Not certain when/how they’ll be released, but am guessing that it will be through a festival format of some sort. Keep an eye out for them!

Do you have anymore primetime appearances coming up?

Marc: As of right now, only in syndication. Hopefully will have more to report very soon.

What keeps you busy outside of acting? Any personal romantic relationships, business involvements or other career highlights you can share about?

Marc: Right now, international and domestic travel has kept me busy. Just returned from Mexico City, and am planning a return very soon. Also have been doing more meditation and exercise.
