Happy Birthday, Martha Byrne! Byrne who was born on December 23, 1969, in Ridgewood, New Jersey is celebrating her 53rd birthday today.
The multi-talented multiple Daytime Emmy Award Winner Martha Byrne began her career in the entertainment industry at a young age when she landed a role in the Broadway musical Annie.
Over the course of her forty-plus-year career in the entertainment industry, she has appeared in numerous television series and movies, and films including fan-favorite TV shows such as Kate and Allie, Murder, She Wrote, and In the Heat of the Night. Highlights from Byrne’s film credits are her featured roles in the television movie When the Cradle Falls and Pink Lightning and in the feature film Anna to the Infinite Power.
Working behind the camera Byrne has directed the drama series, Anacostia, served as producer on the drama series, Gotham, Anacostia, and Empire and she has written for Anacostia and the daytime drama series The Bold and the Beautiful.
Also, musically inclined, the singer, Byrne has released three albums, Martha Byrne, Woman Thing Music, and The Other Side.
Byrne is best known for her role as Lily Walsh Snyder on the soap opera As the World Turns. For almost two decades Byrne played soap heroine, Lily, for a few years she also played Lily’s twin sister, Rose D’Angelo, and of course, she was one half of the popular supercouple, Lily and Holden. In addition, in 2009 Byrne had a short stint on the daytime soap opera General Hospital.
