Days of our Lives fans, you’re in for a treat! Mary Beth Evans (aka the iconic Kayla Brady Johnson) “pops up at one point” in Prime Video’s upcoming crime drama Countdown, which also stars Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric Brady, DAYS). Ackles will play the role of Mark Meachum.
According to TVLine, Evans will play the mother of one of the main characters. Could it be Ackles’s?
About Countdown
Created and written by Derek Haas (Chicago Fire, FBI: International), Countdown is a gritty new series that follows LAPD detective Mark Meachum, as he joins a secret multi-agency task force.
The mission? Track down the killer of a Department of Homeland Security officer who was murdered in broad daylight. But things quickly spiral when the investigation uncovers a much deeper and far more dangerous conspiracy—one that threatens the safety of millions.
The series also stars Jessica Camacho, Eric Dane, Violett Beane, Uli Latukefu, Elliot Knight, and Merrick McCartha. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, the 13-episode series premieres June 25, 2025, with the first three episodes dropping right away and new ones airing weekly through September 3.
