Maurice Johnson will be on your screens again in the upcoming ALLBLK original film Operation: Aunties, premiering Friday, July 11. Known for originatimg the role of Ted Richardson on Beyond the Gates, Johnson joins an all-star cast in this high-stakes cyber-crime thriller directed by Emmy Award-winning actress and producer Wendy Raquel Robinson.
When a near-trafficking incident hits too close to home, professor and blockchain expert Dr. Carol Cleavers (Melissa De Sousa, The Best Man) uncovers a disturbing dark web trafficking ring using a rideshare app to target women. With federal authorities slow to act, Carol takes justice into her own hands—calling on her ride-or-die best friend, retired detective Sharon O’Hara (Tisha Campbell, Martin, Act Your Age), and her brilliant tech-savvy niece Aminah (Amiyah Scott, Star) for backup. What starts as a personal mission quickly escalates into a full-on cyber-vigilante takedown.
