Bold and the Beautiful’s Executive Producer and Head Writer Brad Bell gave fans the ultimate fall preview, which shows the battle between Forrester Creations and Logan Designs reaching a fever pitch, blanks filled in regarding newer characters, and the stage being set for explosions that will go off for the show’s 40th anniversary next March!
With September now here, it’s time to start thinking cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice everything, and fall previews. Autumn is already on the minds of the folks at B&B, with honcho Brad Bell spilling all the tea to TV Insider as to what viewers can look forward to over the next few months.
And it seems that not only will Taylor’s decision not to marry Deacon have repercussions, but friends/rivals Electra and Dylan will have their backstories fleshed out, and Katie and Brooke’s ongoing feud about their respective fashion houses will overflow into B&B marking 40 years on the air March 23, 2027!
Read on for this Soap Opera News report about what B&B has in store for you this fall.
Key Takeaways
- Forrester Creations and Logan Designs are headed for a major showdown.
- Darcy’s arrival will reveal more about Dylan’s past.
- Electra’s family history will finally get some attention.
- Taylor and Deacon aren’t quite done with their relationship drama.
- Steffy and Carter’s secret remains a ticking time bomb.
- Katie’s moves could put Forrester Creations in serious trouble.
Getting To Know You
All the Spencers – Bill, Will, Liam, Wyatt, and Hope – will come even further into center stage as fall begins and they throw their support behind Katie’s efforts to make Logan Designs a major player in the fashion industry.
But it’s the arrival of Dylan’s mother, Darcy (Kelly Sullivan), that will really shake things up in Spencerworld. Katie, who would rather Will reunite with Electra than enter into a romance with Dylan, will remain suspicious of the former art teacher/homeless woman, though, through Darcy, she – and we – will learn more about Dylan and her past. Bell also wants us to pay attention to Darcy herself, whom he refers to as a “charming change of pace” on the show.
Meanwhile, Electra will – surprise – continue to pine for Will, though she’ll also find herself growing closer to R.J. as they work together to keep Forrester afloat. More intriguingly, we’ll find some questions answered about Electra as well, most specifically through unexpected family members we’re due to meet. Will we finally be introduced to Ivy’s never-before-mentioned-until-Electra-showed-up brother John Forrester, Jr.? Could we get a long overdue scene with Ivy and her half-sister Jessica Forrester, whom we haven’t seen since 1996? Asking for a friend.
Mother Marry
Brooke may hold the all-time B&B record for number of marriages (valid and invalid) – but Taylor’s been no slouch in the I Do Department over her 36 on the show, either. Maybe that’s why she decided not to march Deacon down the aisle, even though Deacon was ready to jump out of one marriage into another. Despite Taylor feeling like she and Deacon are just fine without putting a ring on it, Deacon will continue to wish Taylor’s name was Mrs. Taylor Sharpe – and that will leave him vulnerable to Sheila, who hasn’t given up on her former relationship with Deacon just yet. This will play throughout the months ending in -ber, as will Sheila’s never-ending quest to have Finn and Hayes as full-time parts of her life. Is this 2026 or 2021?
Taylor’s daughter, Steffy, made a Brooke-like boo-boo when she and Carter got drunk over their respective problems (Finn accepting Sheila, Daphne’s infertility) and…well, let’s just say decided to make themselves feel better. That couch they shagged on in the CEO office has seen so much traffic over the years that Forrester has had to buy stock in Scotchgard, but at least it can’t talk, so Carter and Steffy’s sexing remains a secret – for now.
But Bell lets us know in his preview that “we’ll see how that [secret] rolls out in the months and years ahead.” Anyone else think B&B is going to pull a Y&R (re: not finding out for over a decade that Lily was really Malcolm’s daughter and not Neil’s) and have Steffy give birth to the baby Carter can’t have with Daphne?
The Company We Keep
Logan Designs isn’t just a company that took its name from the fashion house Ridge did up for Brooke out of the defeated Spectra back in 2003. Its biggest success has been driving a wedge the size of California’s San Andreas Fault between Katie and Brooke, and that chasm between the normally close Logan sisters is going to widen substantially as we get into the autumn months. It seems, in her desire to give her newish corner of couture a permanent place on the fashion map, Katie is going to make some shocking, controversial moves that will have even Brooke, the queen of shock and controversy over two millenniums, thinking her youngest sib has gone too far.
The War Incoming…
Yet, for all that, Bell says that “Brooke is going to have a story of her own that will have some major consequences” – and one would have to assume that will be independent of the Logan Designs saga. Maybe Miss Brooke’s Bedroom herself will finally go through menopause! That’s a story B&B should have done years ago.
Katie’s actions at Logan won’t just affect her company. It appears that, “for the first time in the history of the show,” as Bell described, Forrester Creations is going to be in such deep financial doo-doo because of Logan that the existence of the very design house will be in jeopardy. (“For the first time” seems like an overstatement given Forrester once had to sell their wares on a shopping channel, not to mention both Nick and Bill taking over the company at separate times, but we digress.) That begs the question, what will Eric et al do to keep themselves in business?
And Logan’s success will certainly benefit new hire (and Forrester expat) Deke, whose tenure with Katie will lead him to meeting a new man! Glory be, will B&B actually put a gay male relationship in the spotlight…for the first time in the history of the show?
