It’s been several years since his controversial firing from ‘The Young and the Restless’, but finally former Adam Newman, Michael Muhney was able to open up about what transpired and led to his exit from the soap. In a chat with Shaun Proulx, a leading columnist, host, and publisher, Muhney talks openly and finally tells his story.

Muhney looked back at what transpired and reflected on the aftermath and also the gossip that was flying around the internet surrounding his exit from the show. He also shared how he reached out to CBS and Sony and was able to have a good meeting with them shortly after.

Muhney highlighted that his time away was used to examine himself as he went into a bit of reconstructing the man (himself) whom he referred to as an “ass”. “I never thought it was going to be a spiritual thing for me,” he noted as he talked about his journey since the firing.

Muhney later came to a realization, “Somehow I have to own this moment“. He also had to question himself at times. “Is this something that I’m deserving of,” he would ask himself. “What do I deserve out of this? How did this happen to me,” were some of the other questions he would ask himself. And, his solution was to step back from being that passionate artist who would pick his battles.

Muhney revealed that he was sleeping less and wasn’t handling the situation well. He had to stay low and reconstruct himself so that he could comfortably re-enter the work world. Muhney is doing a lot better now. In his own words,  “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and I’ve gotten stronger from all of this,” which is a great end to a very trying time.

Fans can catch him on “The Good Doctor” on October 23, 2017!
